SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH

  • 3-Night Stay: There are different price points depending on your room/bed configuration.

  • All Meals Included - A total of 3 dinners, 3 breakfasts, and 2 lunches. Snacks and non-alcohol beverages will be provided throughout the weekend as well. We will be sure to coordinate with guests regarding food allergies and preferences. 

  • Our retreat book pick (TBD but the genre will be romantasy) will be mailed to you about 6 weeks before the retreat! 

  • We’re still finalizing the details, but past experiences have included an indie bookstore sip & shop, a popup dinner in a bookstore, a private chef dinner with an author, and more!

  • Pre-planned excursions, games, crafting and group activities (see more details below) to connect with attendees. But don’t worry - there will be plenty of reading time! 

  • We’ll create a WhatsApp group chat so everyone can get to know each other before the trip, as well as host a Zoom call about 2 weeks before.

House Details

Welcome to our Salt Lake City retreat home, a stunning reimagined Victorian mansion that feels like stepping into another world. Set in one of the city’s most charming historic neighborhoods, this iconic home blends original architectural beauty with elevated, modern design, creating a space that feels both grand and deeply inviting. High ceilings, light-filled rooms, and multiple living spaces set the tone for slow mornings, immersive reading sessions, and cozy chats with fellow book lovers.

Inside, the home carries a quiet sense of luxury, where historic character meets refined, modern comfort at every turn. There are four floors to enjoy, cozy corners to retreat into, and thoughtful details throughout that make the experience feel just a little bit magical. Outside, the deck and hot tub offer the perfect place to unwind after a day of reading, exploring, and settling into retreat life.

Activities

All activities are optional, but participation is encouraged!

  • We will plan an exclusive bookish experience (past examples: bookstore sip & shop on a party bus, dinner in a bookstore etc.)

  • Structured discussion for our Retreat Book Pick where we dive into it together! Come prepared with all your thoughts, opinions, and hot takes. We will provide the good vibes and freshly baked cinnamon rolls. We will even schedule a Zoom call (or in-person chat, details TBD) with the author! 

  • Bring a $25 bookish themed gift to participate in a gift exchange game.

  • We’ll have an assortment of crafts in our craft cart for you to enjoy at any time. This may include friendship bracelet making, book cover bedazzling, cozy coloring books, vision board crafting, etc.

  • Trivia (with prizes!), Book Boo Powerpoint Presentation Party, Bookish Card Games, etc.

  • There will be plenty of time to sit back, relax, and dive into your latest read. This is, after all, a reading retreat and you’ll have open-ended time to cozy up in your favorite corner of this beautiful house. 

  • For an added fee, we can organize additional activities such as morning yoga, tarot card readings, guided hiking excursions, etc. More details to come! 

Retreat Book Pick

To be announced SOON! We’re working hard to find the perfect book to match the vibes of our retreat. What we can promise: it will be a romantasy read, and we’ll host a chat with an author - either on Zoom or in person, depending on their schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Each lottery will be open for 72 hours. Fill out the form with your basic info, room preferences, and if you’re booking with someone. If selected, you’ll get a personal email from us within 48 hours of the lottery closing with a private booking link.

    You will have 3 days to book, after which we will move on to the next name on the list.

  • The retreat page has multiple direct link buttons to the lottery application form, which you need to fill out in full.

  • In our efforts to balance returning guest interest while allowing new guests opportunities to come, we have two separate lottery drawings.

    50% of spots go to new guests and 50% of spots go to returning guests

  • When filling out the form, there is a question that asks if you are signing up with anybody else. Make sure to fill it out with the person’s details you'd like to register with. If either of you are selected, both of you will be invited to attend!

    We recommend all people in your party fill out an application to increase your odds. 

  • At this time, we don’t directly offer a payment plan for our retreats. However, Klarna is one of our payment options when you go to select your payment type at checkout

  • Flights are not included to/from Salt Lake City. You are responsible for booking your own flights from your home city to Salt Lake City.

  • No, guests are responsible to transport themselves from the SLC airport to the retreat house.

    We will have a group chat where guests will be able to coordinate arrival times and rideshares if wanted and can advise on best options!

  • Yes! The majority of our guests book solo. We encourage you to join us! You’ll meet as strangers and leave as besties.

  • All bookings are nonrefundable. If you are unable to attend, Boutique Book Retreats will make every effort to find a replacement guest, but this cannot be guaranteed. Purchasing travel insurance is strongly recommended to help protect your trip in case of unforeseen circumstances.

  • Both Boutique Book Retreats co-founders Lauren and Tiina will be guiding the trip, along with an assistant. You are in great hands!
