Join us for a 7-night book retreat in Portugal designed for readers who crave beautiful destinations, incredible food, and meaningful connection! This 2-part experience blends literary adventures with immersive cultural moments — from historic bookstores and guided city explorations to private chef dinners and slow mornings in the countryside spent reading with new friends.
Because of the incredible response and high demand for our retreats, we use a lottery system to keep the process smooth, fair, and glitch-free. This system allows us to thoughtfully manage bookings and ensure every guest has an equal opportunity to join us. 50% of spots go to new customers and 50% of spots go to returning guests.
Lottery applications close on March 4th at midnight PST.

What’s Included?

7-Night Stay: 3 nights in Lisbon and 4 nights in the Alenquer wine region. There are different price points depending on your room/bed configuration.

Transportation is included for all itinerary excursions + itinerary, as well as to/from Alenquer.
Guests will need to arrange transportation to/from Lisbon, as well as to the hotel for check-in. -

All meals included with the exception of 1 lunch during a daytrip excursion to Obidos.
We will be sure to coordinate with guests regarding food allergies and preferences. -
Our pre-retreat box and our retreat book club pick will be mailed to you (or sent to your Kindle) in advance of the retreat.

Pre-planned excursions, games, and group activities to connect with attendees. But don’t worry - there will be plenty of reading time!

We’ll create a WhatsApp group chat so everyone can get to know each other before the trip, as well as host a Zoom call about 1 month before the retreat so we can all meet!

Hotel Details
The Lisboa Prata Boutique Hotel, set in a renovated 18th century building that maintains all of its original charm is centrally located in Baixa Pombalin and walking distance to many popular sites. With beautiful tile panels and original architecture preserved, this is the perfect tranquil escape from the bustle of city life.
Retreat prices include 1 twin bed in a shared hotel room. If you would like to book a SOLO room, this will be an XXXX upcharge on the total retreat cost at checkout.

Alenquer
SEPTEMBER 7-10, 2026
After Lisbon, we’ll travel together to a private countryside villa outside the city for four nights of relaxation, connection, and cozy bookish moments.

Located in Alenquer, this luxury modern villa is carefully designed to provide the ultimate unforgettable and luxurious experience. The elegant furnishings, combining contemporary and traditional pieces, create a sophisticated and welcoming atmosphere. The villa, surrounded by nature in the wine country, provides a peaceful atmosphere, making you feel right at home.
The property includes several lounge and bar areas, a fire pit, two dining areas and a stunning swimming pool with plenty of space to spread out and lounge all day.

If you can’t take the heat…get out of the kitchen. Jack, a down-on-his-luck chef and Poppy, a determined social media maven, strike a reluctant deal to bring a beloved restaurant back to life.
